LATEST NEWS - GAZA

Save a Child is responding to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza by arranging medical evacuations for up to 100 sick and injured children from the war torn region. The first group of children have been accepted for specialist treatment in Italy and will be followed by flights to Germany where 15 hospitals are waiting to treat the children who are suffering from blast injuries and burns.

Working with our partners Gaza Kinder Relief, we have managed to get the children moved across the border to Egypt and we are in the process of flying them to Italy on private aircraft funded by Direct Relief and Project Pure Hope.

"A British aid worker has helped to evacuate nine sick and wounded children from Gaza on a private jet.

Sally Becker, who saved hundreds of children in the Bosnian war of the 1990s, told of her “relief” when the plane landed safely in Trieste, northern Italy, on Tuesday.

The evacuation had been months in the planning, with help from her partners Gaza Kinder Relief, which facilitates evacuation for critically injured children, and Project Pure Hope, which provides medical support for child victims of the Middle East conflict.
